Chronic Stomach Pain/Discomfort? Bone Broth to the Rescue!

Soothing for the digestive tract, bone broth allows the digestive system to take a break and it also supports the healing of the gut and digestive lining by providing essential nutrients and therapeutic benefits!

The gelatin and collagen in bone broth helps to repair and calm the stomach and digestive tract. The electrolytes and minerals in bone broth are easily absorbed and necessary for those who may be depleted due to ongoing loose stools resulting from chronic digestive disorders.

Make this a part of your daily routine or use it when having a digestive flare. I love to pair this with my homemade sauerkraut, which provides a wonderful boost of beneficial bacteria!

Instant Pot Poultry Bone Broth

Chicken or turkey bones (leftover from a carcass or can be raw parts such as wings and legs)- organic, no antibiotic meat

1 whole onion, quartered

5 stalks of celery, halved

5 carrots, halved

2 bay leaves

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Assorted herbs such as oregano and thyme

1 teaspoon Himalayan salt

Pure, filtered water- enough to cover ingredients

Instructions:

Place all ingredients in instant pot along with salt and vinegar

Select Manual (high pressure) for 30 minutes. At the end of this cycle, simply “cancel” the cycle and select Manual “Low” for 120 minutes.

Allow the Instant Pot to depressurize after the second cycle is complete

Strain the broth, removing all solids and store in the fridge for a couple of days or, immediately transfer into a storage container and freeze. Some like to freeze in ice trays and use as needed.

This is a tool to help with a gut healing protocol or to help with ongoing digestive pain, but it is not the solution that reverse the underlying causes. For a comprehensive, individual approach to addressing the cause of your condition, it is necessary to have your own healing plan in place.
